@swamplord666: Damn, that's a great cast you picked. I even personally would pick Djimon Honsou as Kratos and think that the fact that he's black could be explained in some back story (or NOT, it's God of War for goodness sake!).
As for Ares... that's a tough one. I'd say Ralph Fiennes would be a decent choice except for the fact that with Liam Neeson already playing Zeus, I don't want this to turn into Clash of the Titans.

Basically the entire movie is shot in my backyard, and is me actually stabbing the 3 Gods to death while occasionally yelling out Ares. Then i go and have sex with my Wife, The End.
With his history of video game/movie crossovers and his tendency to be typecast as the ruthless tough guy/action hero, surely the only logical choice to cast as Kratos is Vin Diesel?
@swamplord666: Is Liam Neeson even capable of growing a beard? Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but beard-wise Zeus is the bastard child of Kropotkin and Santa Claus, and Neeson is always clean-shaven! Also, Liam Neeson is not supposed to be beat up: he's the one supposed to deliver asskicking (cite: Taken).
