So, there have been listings/rumors relating to a God of War IV before, but this one is different. Joystiq found a listing for the game on composer Timothy Williams' resume, then in he later contacted Joystiq saying he was

working on it in the capacity of orchestrations and some additional music,

Sony of course is not commenting on the story but it sounds to me like God of War IV might be a thing. Source.

It could still be a ways off. Remember last year (or was it the year before or the year before that) when the composer for Bully had Bully 2 on his resume? Still no Bully 2 in sight.

Aren't they out of greek gods to kil now? They'll need to switch to Roman or Norse mythology I guess because this franchise is played out.

Meh, not interested unless they make some drastic changes. There's only so many times you can be stripped of all your powers, get sent to and escape from hell, and invade some giant temple to exact revenge on a Greek deity before you start to feel you've done it all before. :S
