    Despite my honest disdain for the Goldeneye movie, I really liked Alec Trevelyan as a character.  And I'm curious: has anyone heard whether or not this upcoming remake of the game will being Sean Bean's likeness into play where that character is concerned?  I can't seem to find any information on this, nor any screenshots of the character.

    Jeff said in the latest podcast that the Goldeneye remake is a re-telling of the original, hence why Daniel Craig is James Bond, not Pierce Brosnan. Activision apparently contacted the one who wrote the original script for the movie and asked to modify the storyline as if Goldeneye were to come out today instead of 1995.
     
    I'd actually like to know as well, because Alec was a good villain IMO. And Sean Bean nailed that role. But with all the changes they're doing with this remake, I have a feeling another actor will play Trevelyan, but here's to hoping he reprises the role.

    It's not Sean Bean's likeness in the new one, afaik it's just a voice actor so no likeness at all. Much to my disenchantment I might add.

    I just rewatched Goldeneye and it retains its position as one of the best of the best, for me anyway. Don't know why you dislike it, really. 
     
    For the record my top 5 is probably Casino Royale, Goldeneye, From Russia, License to kill and Goldfinger

    Same here. Casino Royale, Goldeneye, From Russia With Love and License to Kill are definitely among my favourites. I'd probably throw in The Living Daylights and A View to a Kill just for the title songs (can't actually remember the quality of those films).

    DEFINITELY the 2006 one. The comedy one is not very good IMO.
