    Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth edition in the long running racing game series by Polyphony Digital. The game sports over 1000 vehicles, damage modeling on race cars, a dedicated television channel, lots of races, 16 player online multiplayer, and active weather.

    Here is the list of cars and tracks, and keep in mind the trophy requires you to have 1,000 different cars in your garage.  So get crackin' on selling and trading, and making sure you get the car you want.  If it has a "P" it's Premium Model, and "S" for Standard.  Just two weeks to go, and this is turning out to be the racing game of the generation.

    Absolutely, but for all those events requiring a certain type of car they'll have a huge amount of variety to chose from. A huge line-up has always been a key feature in GT games, 
    not really something I'd ever criticize.

    but this is a car game.  people have favourite cars and it's always cool to see a familiar car that you can drive in the game.  if they were trying to be all efficient and only have the fastest car of each racing class, then yes you'd have a handful but no variety and all your dream cars would be missing.

    Why do they have the Mustang GT of 05 and what they call the GT Premium of 07?  Its the same damn car!  They should have put the 2011, they announced it long enough ago.  That shit has the new 5.0 aluminum block engine. 
    Look at how many Miatas there are.  Look at all those civics....  Really?  1000 cars?

    Sucks to see that Porsche is still not in the game, there is RUF but I would have liked to see more crest. Also the Audi Avant's on the list made me geek out. With the overlap they give other vehicles would have been cool to see more S4 in there specifically the the first year of the Avant and up to the B7 years, gotta love that V8.

    going over this list makes me kinda depressed. their are a BUNCH of original tracks from GT4 that are just straight up missing. Their are just 5 or 6 variations of the same track  for a bunch of the tracks on the list. Iv been following this game for the past 5 years and i feel a little let down atm, and its the same story with the car list, 8 different types of rx7 and mx5's is just annoying. Dont get me wrong im still looking forward to it because im still a die hard fan, lets just see what happends if their are more tracks coming for DLC which i don't really think are coming.

    I think if people complain enough, they'll put it as DLC.  x.x

    Well that's just straight up a load of shit. After a bagillion years in development, they should have an ass load of tracks to compliment their ass load of cars (it seems from a GT fan point of view, anyway. I could care less). But, they don't. Not to mention bitching never gets you more content, only bug fixes. If PD plans on putting in more content into the game (which I doubt, considering they've had forever to put everything they want into it), they will. If not, then they won't.

    Kinda bummed I can't put snow or rain in all the tracks.  :(   
     
    @ShaggyChu: Good point, the next "DLC" will be the proper GT6 will all the updates and 2,000 cars that people want.  2014 hopefully! 
     
    The biggest complaint people have is the lack of SPA, and at first I thought it was in the game unlocked at S-License, but they confirmed no SPA.  So much for F1 racing endurance.  :(

    I want to see a car list that has a separate premium car list and standard car list, because I'll really be going for the premiums anyways.  Also curious how many slight variations of premium cars they used.

    I was thinking about modifying the wiki page to segregate standard and premium models but I haven't got the time for it yet. Maybe next week... I feel a little sheepish for all the points I got for a simple copy/paste job.  An easy way to do it would be a cast sensitive search for "P " (with a space) and "P/S" on the current list. There are around 250 premium models in total in the game. But there are a lot of redundant models and after ignoring all the racing models and livery swaps, the final number is somewhere around 200 .

    Still no Porsche, no more classic Mini, yet 57 Hondas and 102 Nissans.  Out of 1000+ cars I see maybe 5 that interest me, no wonder I stopped caring about this series, way too focused on Japanese cars.
