An 8 for me. It was quite good, but the reality was, that halfway to 2/3 of the way through the story, it just lost its focus. Still a fun game, but it didn't have the personal drive that the first half had. Too bad really because if it had, it could have been the best storytelling experience in a game.

For the last time : GTA IV. how much do you love it ??
11 for me ;) The only thing holding this game back from perfection is the silly check-point system ( or lack thereof.)
That game was really cool in the beginning, but once I started working for the Patrick and his faimly (which is little over halfway I think) the game got boring as hell so I didn't even finish it. San Andreas was the same way for me, that game needed to change it's structure like Vice City did halfway through to keep things interesting. So an 7 or 8.
10/11. It was great, but the lack of checkpoints still pisses me off. I'm glad they fixed it in Red Dead Redemption.
4. It was really fun at first when it was new and everything, but about 6 months ago I popped the game in again and it was boring as all hell. The combat is awful and I couldn't get attached to any of the characters or what was going on with the story. Plus, no mission checkpoints, so I just stopped playing after I died five times in that abandoned drug place.
A 9. Wish there was more to do after you beat the game (other than multiplayer) but other than that the game is definitely one of the best.
8. it was good but I thought it was a bit overrated. It was visually very pretty and had its moments, but I thought Vice City was considerably more fun.
i appreciate its good for what it is but i never could be bothered to beat it, it just drags on too long, besides, the gta games are meant to be about craziness, so i dont think realism is necissarily a good thing as far as its concerned
I loved GTA starting with 3. VC and SA were a lot of fun and you could spend hours doing basically nothing but rampaging and running from the cops. I had never looked more forward to a game more than GTA4 and as such have never been more disappointed. Poor controls and unfun driving destroyed the game for me and a quit after a few hours. The CORE of GTA games was ruined. I hope they fix that or I might never play another GTA.
" @Ahmad_Metallic said:LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL at the ending !" @one_2nd said:lmfao, I love you. That reminded me a lot of this scene." What the fuck kind of scale goes from 0-11? ""

what movie is that from? ive seen it before man!
7 for me. Really liked it when it first came out but was only real fun when I used cheats which there weren't enough of. Every time I go back and play it I like it less and less because Im so bored of it. I also hated the multiplayer.
I'll give it a 4. I wanted to like the game but I can't. Having played and loved Vice City and San Andreas I felt a bit underwhelmed by GTA4. I thought the story took itself a little too seriously and I felt that there were very little to do in it. Plus in comparison the VC and SA the soundtrack just isn't as good.
I'm going to have to go with a 9. If you were asking me in 2008 I'd have voted 11, but I don't think it has aged terribly well. At the time I loved everything about it. It still does a lot of things well, particularly the story. The DLC is still probably the best DLC that has been released for a console title.
The game also remains significant to me because it was probably the first time I played an open world game and felt that I was playing a game that didn't sacrifice playability for sandbox gameplay - a trend that has proven to be one of my favourite things about this gen.
WAIT WAIT, WHAT THE? Dude, I didn't notice the 11! I gave it a 10. Whatever. Best game of this gen. It deserves an 11 from me.
I enjoyed the setting a lot, the story and characters were mostly good and the huge city was absolutely amazing.
But I think it already hasn't aged very well, the gameplay can be clunky and the lack of checkpoints is very annoying. Doubt I'll play through it ever again, but looking forward to the sequel very much.
