Here's That Grand Theft Auto V Trailer All the Kids Are Talking About
This'll have me playing some GTA4 tonite. It's been a long time - I could go back.
Everyone saying they skipped GTA4 because it looked boring, or was just toooo serious, or all the "I wasn't excited about 5 but this trailer finally grabbed me" or whatever - I'm not saying you all are full of crap. I'm not saying you were always going to buy GTA5, but you jumped on the "I'm so unique" wagon of bashing GTA4 so now you have to make your excuses that this trailer is what interested you. I'm not saying you sound stupid. I'm not asking you "serious? what exactly is it that you do like? I mean really, what was it that was so good that GTA IV was by comparison a mediocre piece of crap?".
I'm not saying those things. I'm just saying I don't get you. Maybe I suspect those things, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume your ridiculous standards and/or poor taste is sincere.
Alex comes off as completely jaded in this trailer reveal. Also, of course there was a lot of build up, it s a GTA game.
I AM STOKED. FANTASTIC!!! The dialogue sounds really well done and I am excited to see how they run with the 3 protagonist angle.
Oh yeah, look awesome. But if that's an aged Tommy, what the heck is up with his voice? Almost sounds like a 13-year olds voice!
@graf1k: You don't think it sounds interesting at all? You should watch The Sopranos. An older criminal in therapy who also has issues with his role as a family man? Lots potential there.

All you whiney worriers, it's motherfuckin' GRAND THEFT AUTO FIVE
Welcome to the Giant Bomb boards, unfortunately.
Looks terrific. I don't think there's a developer out there better at making this sort of sandbox game. People loved Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row, but Red Dead Redemption blows those out of the water. GTA 5 is as much a follow up to RDR as it is to GTA IV, so I'm very excited to see how the incorporate and evolve the ideas they implemented in Red Dead with this game.
Color me disappointed, I'll be sure to keep an open mind with new coverage but this doesn't even seem as ridiculous as San Andreas was. I loved Saints Row and Just Cause because they use the idea of throwing realism out the window in favor of something fun or awesome and I don't want to go back to the GTA style of things.

I think it's great that there are now different series for different kinds of games. I love the ridiculousness of Saints Row, but there are some things that you only get with a more realistic and serious game.
PPl. comparing the to SR as the determinate open world game are making a big mistake. Put it this way, stick to what you like or check out GTA's version of an open crime world. I will probanly never get this game, but I would like to say I would get it over Saints Row(didn't get that either). Vice City is the one GTA game I allow myself cause I like it so much.
Yeah that one guy (Claude) does look like middle aged Jack Nicholson
Really cannot wait for this game. When I first heard a about GTA V I didn't really care, but the stuff I've read and seen about it really caught my interest. I'm officially HYPED!
I'll be impressed when I can put my hands on a controller and try it out. Between the car handling, mission design, and side shit like dates and driving people around in GTA IV (which I know you could skip that last shit, but wanted to play the game as Rockstar obviously intended it to be played), it really soured my taste for the GTA franchise after I already had issues with Vice City and San Andreas.
I want to be brought back to the GTA series. I hope this is the reason to do that.

It seems like this story is a little more light hearted, at least from what one can gather from a minute long trailer. I'm psyched for it.
It's really weird that the voice of Ray Liotta isn't coming out of what is clearly his acne-scarred face.

Dan Houser has said they addressed the driving, they brought Midnight Club devs from R* San Diego to help out with that. The dating shit is gone.
The missions they said are more free form than any past game in the series, partially due to the character switching system. You have three man heists, two man missions, missions unique to each character, dynamic missions out in the world ala Red Dead, etc. Though I wouldn't expect them to say anything less in order to get people hyped, so take that for what you will.

Dumb comparison, some of those PS3 screenshots are downscaled/bullshots.
Never trust pre-release screenshots, they are always touched up in some way. GTA IV looked poor compared to the screenshots that were released before hand.

A guy jumping off of two trains colliding doesn't count as ridiculous?

@grapesoda must be leading a really exciting life.
Buzzing buildings in downtown LA while shooting missiles at helicopters...yawn.
Jumping off of colliding trains...I did that at least half a dozen times last week.
Recreating that car chase from Bad Boys II...funny you should mention it, Bad Boys II is actually a biopic based on my life. I'm a bit disappointed about how much Michael Bay toned it down from reality though.
Driving cars out of cargo planes and then skydiving to the ground...that's how I commute to work everyday.
@Purple_eye: Yeah, after reading most of the previews, since MIchael is a 'retired' heist-puller, there will be many big set-piece robberies this time around rather than just one. Also, whilst you can freely switch between the three characters off-mission just to have fun or do side-missions or what-have-you, in-mission you can switch between people to get yourself into the action constantly. An example given was extracting some guy from the IAA (GTA equivalent of CIA) building; you can switch between Trevor piloting the helictopter, Michael rappelling down to get the guy, or Franklin covering them with a sniper rifle from a rooftop. Hopefully this will mean there's never a dull moment!
So, uh. Where's the trailer? I see this topic saying "Here is the amazing GTAV trailer!", but there's no trailer here. Am I missing something? Is this just a joke post because there is no trailer yet? I don't understand.
