The systems in these games are governed by rules from the pen-and-paper RPG Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. There have been many turn-based and action RPGs that have utilized parts of the AD&D rule set.
Supernatural armor that moves on its own. This could be due to possession, magic or animatronics.

Fairies appear in many games, usually as a race that will assist players with magic. Fairies are almost exclusively female.
These spooky entities are the spirits of the dead, returned from beyond their graves for generally sinister purposes. There's generally about even odds whether a particular ghost will be helpful or malevolent towards the living, but some ghosts just want to be left alone entirely.
A common location in games, specifically RPGs. Usually inhabited by ghosts and other creatures from the beyond.
Goblins are irritable, evil and mischievous creatures in folklore. They can range in size from halfling to average human size.
A humanoid construct given life through magic. The materials used to create a golem vary greatly.
A character type found in RPGs, MMOs, and class based Multiplayer games that focuses on keeping friendly characters alive. Their general role is to heal/buff and resurrect fallen allies.
In certain games a player will be required to fire a bow from horseback. This idea is based around the use of horse archery by nomadic tribes from Central Asia, such as the Iranians, Huns, and Mongols.
Horse riding is mostly used in games to get around from one place to another quicker than you could on foot. They can also sometimes be used in combat or racing.
Equines that go 'neigh' and tend to eat hay. Some are the stars of motion pictures. The truest of companions to many adventurers.
A heavily armored soldier in the service of a lord or cause. Typically a champion of good and a defender of the innocent.
The concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods, breaking the fundamental laws of science.
This is a system used to define the main and sub characters along with their artifacts.
A weapon that has been forged and/or imbued with mystical energy, magic, or some other supernatural force. It is often required to solve a specific puzzle, or vanquish an impossible foe.
Combat based on organic (or similarly functioning) mounts. This can include melee or ranged attacks from horseback.
Necromancers are spell casters who specializes in conjuring and controlling the undead.
Magic or divination involving the dead and departed. One that practices necromancy is generally referred to as a necromancer.
