Codemasters aims to move the series into authenticity as the next game in the GRID series and descendant of TOCA Touring Cars. Acknowledging that GRID 2 did not seem to achieve its full potential, the developer has stated that some of its core decisions moved too far away from the core fanbase. Releasing on June 24, 2014 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, the developers hold a desire to make a game that, in spirit, goes back to some of their earlier titles in terms of both content and handling.

    The Handling

The developers claim that the game is definitely not a full simulation, but pushes itself into that end more than ever. To give a sense of scale, it is one or two steps towards simulation than their 2008 release, GRID. Each car will have its own personality - a WTCC spec Touring Car will feel completely different than a Formula 3 car.

    The Racing Disciplines

    No Caption Provided

Five disciplines within the game add their own unique style and feeling. Each will require a separate own approach and strategy, offering a distinctive style of play. Touring Cars is all about aggressive pack racing, while Street Races are all about reacting to claustrophobic streets. Different experiences are offered within each of the disciplines, ranging from Touring Cars, GT, Single-Seaters, Muscle Cars, Drift, Supercars, Hypercars, Time Attack, Prototypes, and more.

    The Locations

GRID Autosport will feature 22 locations, from Hockenheim to Sepang and San Francisco to Jarama. With a combined route list that totals over 100, both iconic and classic courses will return. There are more circuits in the game than in GRID and GRID 2 combined.
