I think it happened mario kart ds got beaten from its throne...
visually sharp, really great framerate, the driving couldnt feel better, great sence of speed and a surprising amout of variety between the different tracks als the ability to build your own tracks and play them online with your friends (or the rest of the world)  is great.
Only thing that bugs me is the sounds (thinck vacuum cleaner) but that default is overshadowed by the rest
