Griff Simmons

Overview

Griff Simmons is an American boy that first arrived on the SSX world circuit during SSX 3. At just twelve years old, he is by far the youngest competitor to ever hit the slopes for SSX. He quickly proved that he was the future of snowboarding with his limitless, youthful exuberance and pure love of the sport.

Griff is often considered to be heavily based on Shaun White due to his red hair and the fact that he was much younger than the rest of the boarders in the series.

SSX 3

Griff stormed onto the SSX scene as a 12 year-old boy that immediately challenge even the most experienced boarders on the circuit. He won gold in his very first event, which made sure the other boarders would pay attention to his skill.

Although a little bit older, Griff is still a hyper-active, sugar-infused kid with unimaginable skills for his age.

SSX (2012)

Over the years that the SSX circuit was dormant, Griff took his talents to the professional tour. After winning countless medals including Olympic gold in Big Air and Boarder Cross, he eventually lost the energetic, fun-loving persona that he was known for in the past. The fame, money, and gold went to Griff's head, and his arrogance began rubbing people the wrong way. He didn't care though, because his skills on the board never diminished and he was obsessed with winning first and foremost.

Despite all of this, Griff was still invited by Zoe Payne to join her crew in a new SSX event that would take on the most dangerous mountains in the world. He initially agreed, but backed out at the last minute, which solidified "The King of the Mountains" as a villain in the eyes of all of the other riders.

• When Griff was asked what occupation he would have if he weren't a snowboarder he response was " Cowboy. No, a trucker...or maybe a pilot. A jet pilot. A jet test pilot."
• Griff once broke Nate Logan's goggles.
