    Guild Wars 2 is an online RPG developed by ArenaNet, and continues the subscriptionless business model of the original Guild Wars. The game is set about 250 years after the events of its predecessor in a world devastated by the ancient elder dragons resurfacing after millennia of slumber.

    I wish I could go to try it out..but something tells me if I were to try it my impatience for it would be even worse :(

    I'm not even going to touch the open beta for that very reason.  I've made it my mission to avoid as much GW2 info as possible leading up to its release. 
     
    In terms of a release date, a bit of digging about has revealed this trend: 
     
    Prophecies release date of April 28, 2005 was announced on February 14, 2005.
    Faction's release date of April 28, 2006 was announced on March 10, 2006.     
    Nightfall release date of October 27, 2006 was announced on August 24, 2006.  
    EoTN's release date of August 31, 2007 was announced July 2, 2007.  
     
    So, they seem to stick to a 2-2.5 month window from announcement to release.

    I've been wishing for an April 28, 2011 release date to coincide with the GW1 6 year anniversary, but that's just wishful thinking. It'll come when it's ready. 
     
    Hopefully Anet has a Norn demo since they had a Charr and Human one at PAX.
