* My favorites are (from most to slightly-less-most favorite): 1)Engineer, 2)Mesmer, 3)Thief, 4) Warrior, 5)Ranger
* Why?
1) Engineer - Dual Pistols with condition damage Traits is boss. You really need to use your control abilities well to keep yourself going while the massive Bleed stacks can go to work, and I find controlling to be quite fun
2) Mesmer - Surprisingly powerful in melee, great against mobs with the Staff. Boons and conditions everywhere! This isn't your GW1 Mesmer, that's for sure, but it works, and it's still all about deception, which is a Mesmer must.
3) Thief - Love the versatility and how the 3rd skill is dependent on BOTH weapons. I really like the initiative system because it creates a unique rhythm but doesn't hurt your brain to keep track it.
4) Warrior - Probably the best Weapon-Swapping class. Opening the party up with a Rifle and then closing in with the supremely overpowered Greatsword makes you feel like an instant badass.
5) Ranger - Look, all I'm saying is that the Stalker's Roar is the best skill in the game and that the positional skills (Shortbow, I'm looking at you) make the ranger the tactician's choice (trademarking that).
* Plans for upcoming Beta: WvWvW with my new rig to see how it actually runs, sPvP to see if I can learn to love it, but mostly just wandering about with my Engineer. I'll probably hold offf on dungeons in favor of killing mobs and crafting things!
*Plans for Release: Rack up enough gold to rack up enough diamonds to rack up enough character slots to have one of every class (I'm like a lazy Noah) because while I listed my top five, I actually haven't even touched Necro or Ele. Also, pick a race other than Human (I've sequestered myself in Human lands for Beta). And CRAFT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER. ALL OF THE CRAFTING. I look forward to filling up the Guild Storage with Blueberry Pies.
