Guilty Gear 2: Overture is a 3D third-person hybrid action/RTS game developed by Arc System Works and published by Aksys for the Xbox 360 oin October 7, 2008. Unlike the previous installments of the Guilty Gear series (which are 2D fighting games known for their high-quality 2D graphics), Guilty Gear 2: Overture is a 3D action game combining third-person hack-and-slash combat (similar to the Devil May Cry franchise) with a real-time troop management system similar to the Musou franchise and Defense of the Ancients (a popular custom scenario for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos).

The game has seven playable characters (one of them being paid downloadable content), each with unique Servants (who come in many classes) and special abilities. The only characters to return to the franchise are Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske.
