Rev2 is out right now on PS4/3 and Steam! @esrever and I thought organizing some GB Casual Fight Nights during the week would be a fun idea. @esrever also plans to hold weekly tournaments for those interested.

We want to emphasize that the tournament is not the focal point of all this. The casual play sessions are. The goal is to create an environment for those new and old to Guilty Gear to have fun and learn. So if you thought Guilty Gear looked cool in the past but were hesitant to jump in for whatever reason, post here and hopefully other like minded folks will do the same.

We have a Discord for people on GB who play or want to learn more about FGs. For Rev2 all communication will take place in the #GuiltyGear channel. If you have a passing interest in any FG or want to watch an upcoming major while chatting with GB people come on by. We have people of all skill levels that play a wide range of FGs. With that said we have gaps in what people play regularly. So if you're really into a fighting game that isn't getting much play on the discord, drop by, build the hype and teach us!

Casual Fight Night on PS4

Please leave your PSN, Steam and Discord name (if you have one) along with your region. Currently PS4 is where the majority of people own Revelator in the Discord. However if enough people show interest in the PC version I will include PC Casual Fight Nights in the future.

@esrever will plan to have Casual Fight Nights throughout the week.

We will post here and on Discord with the lobby details. The best way to communicate during these sessions is on Discord in the #GuiltyGear text channel. Using Discord is not mandatory for these, so if you would rather let your buttons do the talking it's all good. Want to play but can't make it at these times? Hit up the Discord to find games when you are free and in the future we might revamp the Fight Night schedule.

Now it helps that Rev2 has a great online lobby system where up to eight people can spectate or split up and have four separate matches going. So we can have sections with people of similar skill level and let everyone get more games in if they wish.

Rage Quit Weekly Tournament (PS4)

After Sunday's Casual Fight Night we will host a tournament for those interested. You must communicate during the tournament in our #GuiltyGear. We will bump this forum to remind everyone about the tournament at that time. We will begin the tournament after the Casual Fight Night ends at 7pm EST Sunday.

The rules are as follows.

• Tournament will be double elimination, meaning you need to lose to two opponents before you are eliminated from the tournament
• Matches will use the default settings, and be 2 out of 3. Winner Finals, Loser Finals, and Grand Finals will be 3 out of 5. In addition, the person coming from the loser's bracket will need to win two sets of 3/5 while the winner only needs to win one set of 3/5
• Upon losing a match, the losing player may switch characters if they like. However, the winner must select the same character.
• Players are responsible for reporting their own scores on the Challonge page. If you have any problems doing so or you accidentally enter the wrong score/winner let me know during the tournament so I can fix it.

A million thanks to @esrever for running things again. We've been getting a good stream of new players here and there, maybe as thanks, on the 30th, can we get 16 people in the tournament!?

So I just bought Rev 2 and I'm looking for some people to play with. I kind of inexperienced in fighting games ie I can do fire balls and DPs and some basic combos (obviously I'm playing Ky in GG atm) but I'm not what you'd call good. Am I good joining a tournement or whatever here, or is it above my skill level? Im in the UK if that matters.

@planetfunksquad: You're more than welcome to join us! We have players across multiple skill levels, including some who are just now learning the game. There's also a few EU folks learning the game as well, so hopefully you can find someone to play with with a good connection. The netcode holds up decently with cross Atlantic matches, so you should be able to play with those of us in NA with a somewhat respectable connection. Just follow the discord link in the OP if you haven't done so already and introduce yourself and try to set up some matches in the arcsys channel!

Ky is also a great beginner character. Many people who are more acclimated with Street Fighter-esq fighting games start with Ky and learn the basics and move on from there. He's also very solid in GG.

With our 10th Rev2 PS4 weekly tournament approaching this Sunday on August 13 I thought it would be fun to celebrate with some prizes.
