Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's Review
The gameplay stays the same. You play with a mini-guitar. One green, one red, one yellow, one blue, and one orange. On Easy, you only use the green, red, and yellow buttons. On Medium, you use the green, red, yellow, and blue buttons. On Hard and Expert, you use all of them. As the colored note scrolls down the screen, you press that color and press the strum bar. Sometimes you will have to press more than one at the same time or you will have to hold the button down. For the latter, you can use the Whammy-Bar to change how it sounds. The game seems, however, easier.
There are only 30 songs and no bonus songs. The song list isn't that good. There are only a few good songs like "I wanna Rock," "Bang your Head (metal Health,)" and "Hold On Loosely." And considering all all the other great 80's songs that could have been in the game, the set list seems disappointing.
The graphics remain unchanged from Guitar Hero II except with a few things changed to make it look like the 80's. The characters are now dressed like they were in the 80's and not all of them return from GH2. Same with the venues. All of the guitars from GH2 return too.
In conclusion, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's is an ok game. I recommend it if you find it cheap. If not, you would be better off getting Guitar Hero 1, 2, or 3.
