    Does it work with rock band 1 and 2? Is it better than rock band 2 hard ware?

    As you can see, the majority of instruments are cross-compatible. My only complaint is that the GHWT drums don't work with RB1 on the PS3. (They do work on the 360 though, and it's not an issue with RB2)

    As for which is better, for me its the GHWT hardware. I can't speak for the guitars as I haven't used them that much, but the GHWT drum kit is superior to the RB2 drum kit. I'm a percussionist myself and the GHWT one gives you a slightly more realistic rebound, and even though the cymbals/hi-hat is placed in a weird way, they really add a lot to the gameplay.
