    Did Carmack and Romero work on Half-Life? I don't see any mention of it in their bios. If they did not, then they should not be listed on the credits page.

    Halflife runs on a modified Quake 2 engine aka GoldSrc. 
    I don't think Romero has any hand at all in Halflife, but Carmack was defiantly the main duder behind the Quake 2 engine. Off the top of my head, that's the only way I can think that these people are associated with Halfife.
