Is halo 2 pc dead?

Man, I'm not sure HALO 2 PC was ever really alive...

I know nobody who has played Halo 2 on the PC. I would be surprised if it was active after the first week. To be honest, I feel sorry for anybody who paid for it on the PC.

To answer your question it isnt dead.  you will always find multiple servers with people in them... only problem is most servers just play gay ass rockets only/snipers only/swords only.

I am hoping to see a spike in halo 2 pc usage after the original xbox live is killed, however its easy to find a game on the pc but if you want a specific variant/map you will probably be dissappointed

Oh good, I have a sealed copy of Halo 2: Vista that I eventually plan to crack open.

Halo 2 (PC) was doomed to fail from the beginning. First, it was touted as "Vista only" back when Vista really sucked in the public opinion. Second, it was released three years after the XBox version, and it showed. Third, it ran like crap because the port by "Hired Gun" was lackluster. I don't know how it sold, but I imagine pretty badly. So all in all:

Halo 2 PC is indeed still going, it doesn't have hundreds of matches being played constantly but I haven't gone on it to find nobody playing it either. It wouldn't surprise me if a few people who absolutely cannot live without Halo 2 will start playing the PC version after xbox live from original xbox games gets axed. Though I suppose there are options like xlink kai that means Halo 2 on the xbox can live on...
 
But yeah, in short it lives. I think it will still be a while before any Halo game is completely dead, it's Halo.
