It's just been announced that a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is coming out on November 15, 2011. It will feature new graphic assets, Co-Op, Xbox Live and even 3D. This is huge news!

Cool. I am totally excited for this. Not sure why. I won't be playing Co-op. I might play online, but I am still totally stoked.
 
Edit: I don't like that Sabre is developing it. I always assumed 343 was a developer but maybe not? Can't know how it'll be until its out I guess.

How is that any different from any other game franchise? Halo CE is still considered the best of the series, I think it's a great way to celebrate the 10th anniversary.  Though I would like to see them give it a rest after this. "

It's not that I don't like Halo CE, it's actually one of my favourite games of all time, it's just that I've already played through it's stroy, and this is the laziest possible way to make the next Halo. What's next, Gears of War HD in 2014?

I hope they didn't do anything to the weapons and that's it's the same game in HD with online play.

 As someone who hasn't played a Halo since (no X-Box), that was a really awesome game. I think it's a little (get this now) underrated. I think it's slow pacing and really simple gameplay (not too many weapons, 2 grenades, no powerups) made for a really different experience when it came out. It really distilled multiplayer shooters into something clean, elegant, and super competitive.

Heh Timeshift was okay, but I guess if the story, gameplay, weapons, and characters are already done for them, I can see them making a competent remake for sure.  
 
I just don't know if I feel like playing that campaign again. I did it so much in the Xbox's first three or so years of existence.
