    I know I'm blanking on this, have there been any other such 1 to 1 remakes of video games in the past?
    I'm not talking about ports but straight up remakes.

    The XBLA/PC remakes of the two first Monkey Island game's were pretty close to the originals. Even had that thing Halo:CE anniversary has where you can press a button to go back to the original version.

    Also the Mario 64 and upcoming OoT DS remakes may qualify. And if they do, might as well throw in that punch-out game while we're at it!

    @blacklabeldomm: Certainly not the only remake to be that 1 to 1. One of the few I've seen where you can actually switch between the original and the remake on the fly though.

    I would call those enhanced ports. Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition is a remake.
