I'm sure a lot of people would. As much as I loved Halo, I don't really feel like playing it again, so not me.
Halo: Combat Evolved
Game » consists of 17 releases. Released Nov 15, 2001
One of the launch titles of the original Xbox, Halo: Combat Evolved is a sci-fi first-person shooter telling the tale of an advanced cybernetic super-soldier known as the "Master Chief".
Would you buy Halo 1 HD remake for $60?
Only if they basically completely rejiggered the second half of that game.
Eating into Reach's player base with a CE remake so soon sounds like a total dick move, too. Halo 3's multiplayer got three years without another game in the series cannibalising its own player base, it'd be nice if Reach got at least two - all I know is I'd like to be able to return to Reach's downright awesome multiplayer without having to worry about having a hard time finding matches because of a step backwards like releasing a HD Combat Evolved.
People seem to be a little confused here. The game is supposed to be a complete remake with a totally new engine, not simply an HD re-release.
Nope. I would be interested in someday having all of the multiplayer content from the entire series in one package, though. With the ability to toggle any of the changes made from game to game, so you could sort of "remix" as desired.
" People seem to be a little confused here. The game is supposed to be a complete remake with a totally new engine, not simply an HD re-release.im not confused at all. i wouldnt pay more than $20 even if the game was amazing. the only way to justify it being 60 would be if the multiplayer was like reach only with new addition, polish, and tweakingAnd yes, I'd gladly, it's still one of the best first person shooters out there."
It depends on what you mean by "HD Remake". I wouldn't pay anything to play the original game in HD; we already have the PC version for that. However, if they completely remade it with the Reach engine, then fuck yes, I would pay $60 anytime for this gem.
i have unusually fond memories at that game, even though i know i sucked at it. if it were a h1 + h2 HD package with new old multiplayer i would buy in a heartbeat. mainly because i was underwhelmed by reach and i know some top men that would play it with me.
Hell no, At the time it offered stuff which we had not really seen on a console, however imo it had some of the most boring maps of an fpser ever, and Halo 3 trumped it in every respect (Not played Reach yet and ODST is, in short, garbage)
(if you want to split hairs, Halo is already compatible on the xbox 360 and it IS upscaled so you could argue you already have HaloHD)
Wait, what? They are remaking the first Halo game though... Am I missing something here? Doesn't matter what you'd prefer to pay, you're going to have to pay full price if you want it.
If they included the original multiplayer just with new art assets? Yes. I was a fucking demon at that game, and the weapon balance was crazy.
Halo 1 multiplayer was only good back in the day. Subsequent Halo's were a pretty big step up (even Reach...).
I'll take gameplay over graphics, thanks.
No, because I don't want to waste money on the same slightly graphically enhanced game that I already own. But if they included online multi-player and co-op, then my would be a big maybe.
God of War Collection had two remakes for $30-40 (I don't remember for sure. I know it wasn't $60). If the Halo remake was done in a new engine with new assets and new gameplay mechanics I could see them selling it for $30. With Halo 2 remade maybe $50-$60. But $60 for a reimagined game is a little pricey.
