Spent 4 hours tonight trying to unlock that fucking retarded "If they came to hear me beg" achievement.  Have done about 100 assassinations of all types, with sprint off while flying through the air and nothing.  So annoying to waste 4 hours on an achievement that is broken and doesn't unlock for everyone, and when it does unlock nobody knows why.  Fucking lame.

Why would you spend 4 hours on an achievement? 

That one took me a while too (but only like 15 mins).  Did you watch the video up on Xbox Live?  One of those achievement tip videos, followed what they did, eventually worked.  Definitely didn't work every time, even if I did things 100% right.

What? I got it in 3 or so tries. Just have to make sure you deactivate sprint right as you get above the elite and then hold down RB (or whatever your melee button is, I use bumper jumper).

and even though they say it in the vid, ill specify it even more, be sure your not using your equipment while assassinating or else it wont count because you can survive a fall if your sprinting.

You're gonna have to find a lot more glitches than that to constitute this as a "glitchy ass game".

It's not because the game is glitchy... it's because you're doing it wrong. You wanna stop holding down sprint as soon as possible because that'll make the fall survivable, which makes the achievement not count.

Make sure you let go of sprint high enough up or it doesn't count.

It is a glitchy achievement.  The game rocks, no question but that achievement is bullshit.  I finally unlocked it, and no, I wasn't "doing it wrong". It's super temperamental and it ended up activating the exact same way I had been trying it for hours upon hours.  
 
Yes I was pissed off and frustrated but rightly so, this achievement was a bitch to get.

Sprint isn't hold activated, it's on-off. Sprint on -> jump -> see if you're landing on the elite -> sprint off -> assassinate.

Did anyone actually read what he said? He deactivated sprint. I'm having the same problem. I'm doing it literally the exact same way one of those video guides did it and the game just decides it won't give me it. It's doing it to a friend of mine as well.

This.  It's a very difficult achievement to get, the description of the actual achievement and the video guides posted don't help much.  Just gotta keep doing it over and over and get lucky.  Some guys get lucky and get it on the first try, others not so much. You need to learn to play though man and stop being a dumbass according to some douchebags in this thread. "

I think the game is rather well polished. That being said, I had to play through the 2nd mission 3 times before I got the achievement for completing it and I find that the subtitles appear and disappear whenever they feel like it.

That's the least "glitchy" problem with Reach, believe me.

Even if this were a glitch, I don't think this constitutes a "glitchy ass game".  It's one problem, and for a completely optional achievement.  Why do you care so much that you'd spend so long doing it?
 
But for the record, the achievement DOES work, it just requires perfect timing.  If you land ontop of the Elite it counts as hitting the ground, thus the assassination won't work.  You have to perform the assassination BEFORE you land.  I agree it's stupid and probably will be tweaked, but seriously.  Calm down.

I also can't get this one to work.  I've gotten several different assassination animations, including the headstomp one that typically pops the achievement.  The achievement will not pop.  I'm playing on Legendary.  I have a video of the "bug" in my fileshare: gamertag: ego sn1per

It's not glitchy, you have to do everything perfectly.  Also I think jumping on the elites head breaks your fall, so make sure your behind him, not on top.
