So as a Halo fan who made the most memories with the first 2 games, are we going to be able to play Halo 1 online? I haven't heard any news on whether the original halo 1 maps would be playable online amongst this sea of hype for the remake and release of Halo 2 Anniversary. I love Halo 2 and its exciting to see some of the maps fully remade, but what about halo 1 online, remade maps, matchmaking for individual games(halo 1) etc...?

Halo 1 will be playable online but it will look like Halo 1.

They've said that every map from each game in the collection will be included, running on the game's original engine. Only a select few of the Halo 2 maps are getting the full anniversary treatment, the rest will (presumably) simply be the original assets running at 1080p60 in the original engine. As far playing only Halo 1 online, there will be a wide selection of playlists, some which include maps from multiple games and others that limit the selection to a single game.

Halo 1 was online on PC, so it isn't unprecedented. Looking forward to it quite a bit, but the few times we hacked an Xbox online thing it just taught me that people are really good with that pistol.
