/question. I like the idea of making huge warthog battles, not so much the idea of navigating more menus than pathways

If you hate strategy games, why would you buy a strategy game?

As its crunch, I'm assuming he wants the payoff of huge warthog vehicle battles to watch. However, he wants to know if the RTS parts are worth suffering through for £10 for the payoff. Was that right@crunchUK: ?

Yes, yes it is.

I can't say much about the halo franchise, but one example I can use is Brutal Legend.  I love the subject matter of Brutal Legend through and through, but the RTS made that game pretty hard to get through.  Overall, the story and the concept of Brutal Legend saved that game, but my experience with that game was pretty disappointing.  Now, if you love the Halo universe then the discounted price should be enough to make you get it?  Unless, you're just a casual fan.  Then maybe avoid it, especially if you hate strategy games.

Well it appears giantbomb does not have the capability to give advice., instead resorting to nerd cynicism. Because weirdly the most helpful and insightful post in this thread comes from somebody with only 29 posts. Dear me.

Halo Wars is pretty much just "build a bunch of units, select all of them, throw them at enemy", so yes, it's worth it at that price. It's not a very strategic RTS.

Yea Halo Wars is a very fast paced RTS, it's pretty simple and the battles are always fun to watch.

Yea, its not really RTS-ey at all. Its a good game. I enjoyed it and I don't normally play RTSes. Go for it, if you haven't already...
