I've always disliked Wendy's, and after the comment about Checkers being greasy I'll go with Checkers.
 
Why does the east coast have so many exclusive burger places anyways? It's weird, bring some of them over to the ole west.  :P

Just had Wendy's today. It was a pretty good burger. Never had Checkers though. I don't think I've even heard of them.

being from chicago...five guys for upscalerish burgers, white castle for ghetto burgers.

The Rallys by me used to be good, but they've had a pretty sharp decline in burger quality over the past few years, I'm giving this to Wendys.

There hasn't been a Checkers around here for years. I forgot they even existed until right now.

It's called Rally's here in California, but I've never ate there and also never at Wendy's. There just aren't any Wendy's in my area...

They also have much better fries.

wendy's fries are like the worst out of all the fast food joints, gota go with checkrs.

I don't like Wendy's, so probably Checkers/Rally's.

There was just a story on the news a few days ago about a guy finding a metal screw in his burger at a local Checker's. However, even if they can guarantee my burger will be hardware free, I'm still going with Wendy's.

Wendy's is my favorite fast food joint...soooo Wendy's.

I've only been to Wendy's, or rather, that's the only one I've even heard of. Wendy's by default.

its been so long since i've been to checkers they got rid of all of them in my area, but the wendy's is still here and they sure know how to make a burger

I've never heard of the other one, but goddamn Wendy's is terrible.

i like both Wendy's and Rally's
 
Wendy's because of their #3 order on the menu (i think its #3 pretty sure of it) which is a triple patty burger with a slice of cheese between each patty (note: order a triple burger without vegetables, its a WAY better experience, i also think if u order it that way, they put extra cheese)
 
Rally's though imo, is the best place to get fries, their seasoning and style is awesome (my favorite is curly fries from Rally's)

checkers hits the fucking spot late at night. those fucking huge seasoned fries and their greasy burgers ugggggggghhhhhh and the chili dogs omg 
 
but they always get my orders wrong, especially in the drive through

Wendy's can be good if it's fresh but they are known for some of the worst health code violations. Checkers is a heavy grease bomb but the big buford will always reign supreme as the "hangover killer"

yeah, I just noticed I didn't put my opinion in the initial post... but... totally checkers.
I fucking love the fries, especially the fully loaded fries.
i'll need a drink to wash down the heartattack feeling, but damn it is so damn good.

Philly Checkers are awful. Wendy's for me.

I live in the American South, too so the answer is Checkers all the way.  I stopped in just last week for a couple of jalapeno-cheddar burgers and some loaded fries.
