A hamburger is a hunk of ground beef served between two pieces of bun-configured bread. Hamburgers are often served with a variety of toppings and condiments. It is named for the region in which it was invented, not for the kind of meat (as is often mistakenly suggested).
the turm hamburger is used for burgers made from beef . ones made from ham are pritty hard to come by, ive only just had one it was really good :P. has anyone else had one ?
You mean a ham steak on a bun, or is the ham ground up? That just seems weird...although it would be easy to make a burger out of ground pork. If I did that I could totally get behind the pineapple on the burger, too, since it would go far better with pork than beef.
its a ground up ham patty grilled like a normal burger basicaly tastes like a thick slice of ham lol its pritty wierd but after u get passed the consept of it its ok lol
I lived in Ukraine for a while and they don't eat much beef over there, so all of our hamburgers were made from ground pork. It doesn't taste much different, it's still good. But the guy above me is right, it's not named that because of the meat, it's because of where it was created. THE HAMBURGER IS NOT AN ORIGINAL AMERICAN MEAL! WE LOSE AGAIN!
Are there any truly american meals? Apple pie was probably created elsewhere, which leaves things like corn - sweet corn took off in North America, and not so oddly, it goes well with hamburgers. Who could turn down a huge grilled burger with a nice barbequed ear of corn dripping with butter?
Yeah, I don't see why hamburgers are called hamburgers when there's no ham in them. But I'd rather not put too much thought into it so long as it tastes good.
Uh. A real hamburger is made from beed and from Hamburg. It has nothing to do with pig flesh. You are mislead, dear chojin; you've eaten a fake hamburger.

Those corndog things were probably true American. I think.
