Overview
O'Brien was a gene therapy doctor in charge of Sera's physical condition. He clashed with his colleague Serph Sheffield, who would push often push Sera past her physical limits during experiments. Although he was well-meaning in these arguments, Sera came to view him as scary. O'Brien felt protective of Sera because she reminded him of his late younger sister, who died of the Cuvier Syndrome.
He was the template for the AI named Heat, who inherited O'Brien's appearance. Because the personalities of the AIs were based on Sera's singular perception of people she knew, the AI Heat was brash and aggressive.
