I thought it was going to play out like Indigo Prophecy where you pretty much play as everyone. If not I'm gonna play as the first guy on the list and work my way from there, so Madison Paige.

You know i haven't thought of that. just from the way they have been representing the characters from the trailer to trailer i thought you get to pick who you played as. hmmm
Well, I read that when you die as a character, you move onto the 'next' character and tthe dead characters death figures into the story. The way the article said 'next' character implies there's a set pattern to who you control. Ethan looks the most interesting, though.
@tiwi: Basically, but to be more specific the story progression is based largely on the actions of the player. So there are sequences of actions the player could take that cause the character to end up in a situation that could be avoided otherwise (e.g. death). Thus, there are branching paths. I've never played Dreamfall, by the way.
you play as ethan first no matter what. Then you get to a point and you play as someone else, then you get to the next point and play as the next guy. Then you get to the next point and if that other guy did not die last time you played as him you'll play as him again. Trust me I know, if you know what I mean. ^__~
