    This sounds interesting:

The Good Life is set in Rainy Woods, the self-proclaimed “happiest town in the world.” You play as Naomi, a photographer from New York who gets stuck in this rural England town. Something’s not right, though, because all of the town’s residents turn into cats at night.

“The town becomes a very different place at night, as certain secret paths, rooftops, and attics can only be accessed by cats,” the original pitch goes.

“This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay,” said Suehiro. “It’s a mystery game based on the framework of a ‘daily life RPG.'”

"Spirit of Deadly Premonition", daily life RPG, rural England and transforming into cats sounds pretty perfect. I never tried D4, and only watched the ER of DP, but I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

    source

Edit: The crowdfunding campaign for the game will go live on FIG on September 3 (Link to the campaign) PC and PS4 are the currently planned platforms. (Wasn't DP X360 and PC only?)

Also, it's interesting the number of parallels this game has with DP and Twin Peaks, the same way that DP did. "Naomi" seems like a Twin Peakish name (Naomi Watts?) Rainy Woods was the original name for Deadly Premonition (and a better name, imo) It feels like SWERY is still in the Twin Peaks mood, which is great. Inspired by the return of TP maybe? (He's been watching the new season according to his instagram posts!)

I'm looking forward to this. I like that he's taking day to day stuff from Deadly Premonition, that's definitely the most promising element to expand upon without just making a Deadly Premonition 2.

Never played a Swery game before, but I'm always interested in a game that prominently features cats.

Edit: but 1,5 million is a lot of money.

$1.5 million is a big ask for a niche developer like Swery. I know I'll be contributing, but I'm worried that he won't get there.

I, as well wonder if a developer with such a cult following can pull in 1.5 million.

But it is Fig, I guess. Investors can come from weird places. Maybe Elon Musk wants to see SWERY's take on England... and cats. I know I sure as Hell do.

Also, something about SWERY referring to Deadly Premonition as "my most representative work" is so precious to me. I just imagine an art class being assigned homework of "2500 words on the symbolism of York and Zach's movie discussions. At least twenty sources cited."

SWERY is such a great human. I hope he gets the money, we need his mind in video games.

I have never actually backed a crowdfunded game before, but this very well could be an exception.

Persona* + Cats + SWERY sounds like the best game idea ever conceived.

(*that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think "daily life RPG" anyway)

I would certainly be curious what this ends up being if it does get funded. I can't say I enjoyed my time with Deadly Premonition as much as I reluctantly had fun with and against it while playing it with a friend.

Hell, yeah! I think Swery has a winner of an idea here, at the very least it sounds like my kinda game. Loved DP and D4 so this is something I'll be awaiting eagerly. Cat's rule and dogs drool

I think Fig would be even less likely to get funded considering how bad D4 bombed. Which sucks because I'd like to see another game by him. (not really into cats like he is though...)

It looks like Swery has had this idea in mind for a while, judging from York's odd tangent on Ladyhawke.

I wonder if it will be set in the south, like in Devon, Cornwall, or Sussex or in the north somewhere? sounds neat tho.

P.S. Swery liked pictures of my cats on Instagram like 5 years ago lol...

If he doesn't, then there's something amiss with him.

I hope this gets funded as the world is a duller, colder place without a new SWERY game. He's a treasure, that guy.

@boozak: I had kind of forgotten about D4 honestly (maybe because I didn't own an Xbone when that game was released). That's a good point, but how many directors/writers/developers exist that would fit the phrase "how the Hell does this moron keep getting funding/work?" There's gotta be one or two GOOD versions of that phenomenon, right?

    ...Right...?

Sounds really interesting but the question is will he get funding to actually finish it, unlike D4. I would be tempted to fund it if it were offered, despite SWERY's inconsistent development history.
