What mask do you guys find yourselves rolling with?

I find myself exclusively using Jake The Snake, which makes any thrown object lethal. This is especially useful because thrown objects don't stop after colliding with someone, which means if you can gets a row of dudes lined up, a single throw can wipe all of them out in one fell swoop. Since thrown objects also ricochet of walls, you can do some crazy shit that way too. Kills from thrown objects are also silent, and you can throw them from fucking deep.

The only significant downside is that the thrown items only hurt regular enemies...they don't make contact with dogs or the heavier guys. :(

I'm a fan of the Don Juan mask, the one that makes doors lethal. If you aggro a room just right, you can kill every stupid fuck in one go.

I've yet to try most of them, I only used Rasmus on my first playthrough. Wanted to get a "pure" experience so I can better appreciate the quirks of the more special masks. Tony the Tiger is pretty rad, but I can see myself using the ones that boost you running speed.

So far my favorite is Zack (frog) mask for longer combos to make it easier to get A rank. Although I also like Peter (unicorn) mask to make all guns silent.

Haha, does the game refer to enemies as "fucks", or do I keep seeing people use that term because it just feels right for the game?

I read it in a RockPaperShotgun preview and I guess the term stuck, seems very appropriate for the game.

Referring to the enemies in this game as 'fucks' is great. And 'fuckin dog', for the fuckin dog.

So far I'm leaning on Tony, because I don't want to get caught with my pants down while executing some poor fuck.

    Tony - Faster excecutions.
Killing people in one hit while unarmed is great when going for the perfect combo in each level.
Though to be fair, I haven't really used any other masks. But now that I've gotten A+ on all levels I can go back and experiment a bit.

The one that makes dogs not attack, because fuck those guys. Silent gunshots are also nice for some levels so you don't pull every enemy in the building, but sometimes that's exactly what you want to do.

Edit: Scratch that. The "faster executions" one is amazing.

I love the hard to detect mask. You can run around like a boss punching everyone even if theyre like half a room away and carry guns. You're boldness rating will go through the roof with this mask, in comparison to tony where the boldness rating is somehow reduced if you go unarmed (I think).

I used Dennis the most - the wolf mask that starts you with a knife. The knife is super quick and lethal, and it feels totally badass to throw caution to the wind and run into a packed room, cutting through four guys in all of half a second.

For as much as I found myself grimacing with the difficulty when I started playing, there's a few masks that seem way overpowered (Peter, Richter, (Ted?)) to the point of eliminating a lot of the game's core challenge. I'd love to see some additional levels that allow you to take further advantage of some of the crazier tactics you can employ with the different masks.

Tony, because fuck you dog, I can punch you if I want.

I'd say Carl, from those imbalanced drill execution points, or Jones for the "more gore" effect.

Honourable mention to Phil, the fish mask, for being an obvious reference to that guy who made Fez.

I originally just ran with the blank rooster mask the entire game thinking it would do something special (it doesn't)

I really like the walk-faster masks because I tend to play the game very melee heavy and will try to plan out some sort of route that maximizes combos as much as possible, even in the gun-mandatory levels.

Finished my first playthrough pretty much exclusively using Tony, I just loved being able to run into a room knock over the first guy with the door, punch the next guy dead then come back and execute the first guy all in under a couple of seconds.

I tried a couple others but not being able to instantly execute someone just made the game feel so slow and I felt really vulnerable when executing. Although I didn't realise the lethal throws mask meant that throwing a weapon killed someone, for some reason I just didn't understand that so I never used it even though in the later levels I was throwing weapons around corners to knock people out to help with crowd control.

In the last level as the original protagonist I used the Oscar mask because I had just unlocked it but the only description it has was "darkness" and I didn't notice it doing anything different so I don't know what it actually did, anyone know?

I like Tony (Faster Executions) and Ted (Dogs Don't Attack) and Brandon (Walk Faster). Haven't tried Oscar (Darkness) yet but curious to know how it works. Earl (Walrus) sucks. I ain't never survived no bullets.

Lately I'm using Peter a lot (unicorn). He's making guns far more viable. I played several levels with guns-only and it was a breeze being able to snipe guys in quick succession with very little aggro to deal with. Auto-lockon with the gamepad thumbstick made quick and easy. I won't always use it, since I want to challenge myself, but it's nice to finally have a use for guns.

When going melee, I usually choose the rabbit or horse mask, depending on the level's layout.

Lethal doors or silent guns, depending on the level. I cleared one of the early levels using only door-kills. For great justice.

Always Tony, it doesn't say on the mask itself but it makes your regular punches lethal, like you've got claws. Running through an entire level without a weapon just ripping dudes up is awesome.

I played with Rasmus (or whatever the owl is called), mainly to help me find the puzzle pieces.

Got A+ on a lot of levels though, so I haven't really felt the need to go back over the levels with different masks. The Horse one and the frog seem pretty useful though.

Dogs don't attack is really nice. Too bad you still have to kill the doggies to complete the level. I'd like to pretend I am a friend of all dog-kind. :) Before that I mostly used fast walk speed.

Good to see everyone else loves Don Juan.

The ones for running faster and keeping a longer combo seem to be really nice for getting high ranks, and the chameleon one and the one that makes you run faster both seem good for people who like melee weapons.
