Overview
Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Special is a riichi mahjong (two-player variant) eroge developed and released by Jaleco for arcades exclusively in Japan on December 1993.
It is a revamped version of the Super Famicom game Bishoujo Janshi Suchie-Pai, changing the game's scenario while adding full nudity. Players choose from one of six women and attempt to defeat the others in games of mahjong, with the loser undressing for the player. Like the original, players are aided by the heroine Suchie-Pai, who uses her special abilities as the game's power-ups.
The game was later ported to the 3DO on January 12, 1995 and for the Sega Saturn on February 24, 1995. As the Saturn version censors some of the full nudity by removing some of the revealing bits (such as nipples), the platform received a second version (with uncensored pictures and a new soundtrack) on September 29, 1995 as Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Remix. Another censored version of the game was released for the Sony PlayStation on March 24, 1995 as Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Limited, replacing the nude pictures altogether with skimpy outfits and swimwear. This version was later brought to the Saturn in 1998 as part of the Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai: Mecha Gentei-ban bundle. The game also received a Windows PC version.
All three of the Saturn versions later received ports to the Nintendo Switch on December 8, 2022, with the first two released as Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Special + Remix Saturn Tribute and the third included in Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai: Mecha Gentei-ben Saturn Tribute. All versions include optional cheats, including time rewinding and save states, and were included in the retail compilation Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Saturn Tribute. Both "Special" and "Remix" versions use the same censored artwork, which now uses censor bars.
