Entities that have different, though usually malicious, roles in Asian religions. These range from being antagonists of the Hindu gods to the three-faced, six-armed depictions of Japanese Buddhism.
A hero of Hindu lore mentioned in the Ramayana. As his name implies, it was he who slew Indra, lord of the Devas.
An asura of immeasurable size from Hinduism and a personification of intoxication. His ability to swallow the whole universe struck fear even in the heart of the celestial lord Indra.
Creatures of Hindu lore who feed on the vice of men. In the Rig Veda, Indra is mentioned to have slain Pisaca and Rakshasa.
A vile dragon and Asura in early Vedic myths who prevented all rivers from flowing. He was slain by the god Indra with the aid of his Vajra, or thunderbolt.
