Has anyone discovered if this is possible? I've been hunting for the final one for ages now and it's starting to get annoying. 
 
I really don't see why they removed the way you did it from the first game.

@JTB123: The last one took me a while to find. One of the trophies sends you back to the area where the last one is.

Most likely you are missing the one located on the string of islands from the beginning of the game. With the improved thrusters you can go back there and get it.

Thanks for the tip about the one in the beginning islands, that was the one I was missing.
