    Overview

Infinite spawns are commonly found in many first person shooters, as well as other types of games. They often prove to be frustrating to players for a number of reasons:

    1. On harder difficulties, endless waves of enemies can be extremely difficult to get through.
    2. The player is often forced to press forward until they reach an invisible barrier they can't even see, thus ending the onslaught.
    3. Occasionally, there's goals to complete within an area that enemies continually pour into, adding to the stress.
