MK9 was my favorite game last year so I'll probably give this a chance. Didn't really care that MK vs DC was T-rated so this doesn't bug me either.

The DC Universe's most powerful heroes and villains collide in this fighting game from the creators of the Mortal Kombat series.
The Mortal Kombat Team Has A New Fighting Game
OK, I really don't think the DC characters work well in a fighting game.
So here's a crazy idea, why won't Ed Boon and co make a fighting game with Vertigo characters? Wouldn't that make a million times more sense? You could still have it M rated, plus imagine if you could play as Swamp Thing, Constantine, Skinner Sweet, Sandman and his fucked up siblings, Lucifer, Jesse Custer, I mean I could go on forever here!
@Stete:
Because nobody would buy a Vertigo fighting game, especially compared to a game that has some of the most recognizable characters on Earth. Just because something might be a better idea doesn't mean it'll be a successful idea.
Man I like MK but love DC. So glad this is not a cross over and builds on the excellent MK 9. Go ahead and continue making characters spiritual successors to MK characters though. Kabal is fast enough that they can make the Flash feel just about right.
If they cram this full of features like MK9 it'd be awesome. Most of all they have another opportunity to tell a great fighting game story really well.

Yeah it makes more sense to have those people in there, and I agree that would be awesome, but quite simply "Jesse Custer vs. Sandman" just won't sell as many copies as "Superman vs. Batman". I do hope NetherRealm delves deeper into the DC Catalog than they did with MKvDCU, since it would be cool to see some more obscure characters... and DC does own Vertigo so who knows, maybe we will see some of those characters. I think that Eric from A God Somewhere or Sven from Northlanders would be cool characters. Unlikely, but possible.
EDIT: Hell, even some of the Watchmen would be pretty awesome to have in this game.
This could be good but I don't know, I can't explain it but I'm getting some weird forewarning vibe off this. But hey, I just need to wait until I see more.
I might get into this, my biggest beef with the MK games is the style(I think it looks ugly) and the gore(I think it's a bit embarassing). Too bad everyone have their current looks, Harley Quinn is unrecognizable and they are probably gonna reboot it sooner or later into something more iconic.
I would love for this to have the same story mode that MK9 pulled off.
This seems pretty cool, I just hope they make sure to keep the cast pretty diverse. It's really easy to make a DC fighting game that's just a bunch of buff white dudes punching eachother through walls, and neglect a lot of really cool characters like Cyborg, Static Shock, Vixen, etc who would bring more diversity to the game. Use John Stewart as your Green Lantern, Netherrealm. He's cool. And everyone who watched the animated JL series loves him.
Hmm... This interests me. Now I'll just cross my fingers and hope Two-Face is in the game. (Even though there's no chance of him being in, I'll also be hoping for Jonah Hex as well.)
"Gods Among Us" is the title of a book written by the next major Justice League villain in the comics. It tells the story of the origin of the Justice League in the New 52 Universe
Mortal Kombat 9 was my favorite fighting game this generation so far, so I'm super excited for this game. This looks a lot like it's in the Justice Lords universe.
Well it actually doesnt look like shit. Looks better then MK Vs DC anyway.
Its a fighting game. They really dont have to make a lot of sense or fit into cannon, Also im guessing from the trailer they all get affected by something or other hence the what if our heros became our greatest threat.

Sigh why the fuck is batman kicking somebody through a building

Clever way to work around an exclusivity announcement, Jeff, but you might get The Man angry at you.
Jeff and Ed Boon know each other. I'm sure it's fine otherwise it would not be posted. I assume at least.
I am not sure. They build a lot of good will with the previous MK, but this game doesn't look up to the same standards (T for teens doesn't help)...
The Batman's move (kicking someone through a building) makes it look too generic (and reminds me of the awful "everyone has the same fatalities and moves" engine in Armageddon). No amount of justification can explain Harley Quinn kicking Superman through a building.

I was wondering that as well. There is no kind of gadget that I could think of that could give Batman the power to kick someone through a building.
I absolutely LOVE the idea but I HATE the way it looks. Seriousely its DC, its not supposed to look all dark and gritty.
So... I guess we've all just assumed that this will be Grundy, Luthor and Harley, as the "Heroes", versus what is basically the Injustice Gang?
Thats cool :)
Villains versus Uber-Villains sounds like something NetherRealm can handle!
