Insanely Twisted Creation.
As I played through Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet my emotions seemed to fluctuate just as much as the levels. At the opening of the game the art and style blew me away in way that I haven't been since I saw Limbo for the first time. The style on the creatures and aliens is edgy and covered with shadowy art. The world that you fly around in is just as edgy and scrambled with many hidden passageways to find upgrades, unlockables, and hidden artifacts to find.
As the player you are driven to explore 5 stages of the Insanely twisted shadow planet and must fight off a myriad number of bosses on each level as well as solving some interesting puzzles. After defeating and exploring each level you unlock new weapons and puzzle solving abilities all of which seem quite unique yet none of them seem to hit the button on an "awesome weapon". Some of the controls on the weapons mostly the rocket are really bad. There are points in the game that make you guide a missile through a tight passageway which wouldn't be bad but the controls take a lot of time to get use to and can lead to quick frustration.
The Laser and Shield upgrades are worth the exploration but the artifacts and the unlockables are not really worth it unless you want the extra gamerscore. This is rather unfortunate because the game world is so awesome that there should be a better incentive than just getting to see concept art to get the artifacts and unlockables.
All and all the puzzle solving and the majority of the gameplay is great and the world that is created is edgy, creepy, and fun. With only a few rough bumps along the way mostly in the control scheme of the game. The game itself has a lot of fun to offer I never played the multiplayer myself but it looks interesting enough for those of you who like multplayer gameplay. For fifteen bucks the game is a little short but it is totally worth it. So go ahead... go and get it... go... shew... go get it... go buy insanely, INSANELY TWISTED SHADOW PLANET!!!
