James Blake, a former world number four, is a professional tennis player on the ATP Tour from America. He approaches matches with an aggressive playing style.
The American has appeared in several tennis video games, including titles in the Virtua Tennis and Top Spin series.
2004
While practicing with compatriot Robby Ginepri in Rome, he slipped on the clay surface and collided with the net post, breaking his neck. Later that year in July, his father died of stomach cancer, and atound that time, he developed shingles, which caused temporary paralysis on half of his face and blurred his vision.
Despite all of these problems, he recovered and returned to playing tennis in 2005. His ranking was 210 in April, but by the end of 2006, he reached a career-high ranking of number four in the world.
