So this is his next "Skylanders moment" isn't it in terms of insane money spending sprees? I wish I was able to do crazy shit like that out of the blue...or maybe not.
Being on the sidelines watching the insanity is probably more preferable, right? Personally, I hope this really happens.

Jeff's Tokyo Raid
@Colourful_Hippie: It is absolutely preferable to watch from the outside. When you're inside, it's nice for a while, but you eventually find yourself with an empty wallet and an even emptier soul.
I'm hoping against hope that CBSi will expense this or that a sealed copy of Magical Chase is worth a fortune. I want all of them to go. And with no trade show to distract them...
Old/obscure video games, capsule toys, airsoft assault rifles, Brad "anime editor" Shoemaker, antiques roadshow appraisal of Magical Chase, Storage Wars style wheeling and dealing, reckless spending, giant three liter beers, and beef bowls all happening in a 48 hour, sleep deprived Japanese adventure in Tokyo.
The greatest smash and grab in history.
Plus, they could bring back the drink tasting segment.
New country = New Drinks

Jeff this is your parole officer...you're not supposed to be playing these sorts of games.
@Indiana_Jenkins I know they wouldn't do it because of the tech that's needed but end of day livestreams of just nonsense would be the best!

Oh my God, this made me laugh way more than it should have. Anywho, I love Jeff's terrible ideas but I don't think there's any guarantees this one will actually happen. Also, I would love to play an arcade game called Jeff's Tokyo Raid.
i hope they do this , it would be the best thing they have done on this site. And magical chase will definitely be able to fund it so GO FOR IT!!! PLEASE DO THIS!!!
I HAVE A SOLUTION
Its done supermarket sweep style
All the guys go
they have 3k in NCIS money each. Or they have to wear like CBS Sports jackets (there's your ad money BOOM)
Vinny,Drew and SOME INTERN follow them around with cameras
at the end of the time the users judge who got "the most" out of their money in Japan.

'The Raid' has to happen, but I have to insist on a livestreamed 'Soapland' detour.
I wonder how much more useless crap Jeff will have to buy and pack away in his garage before he realizes that it's not going to make him happier.
I'm imagining frenetic footage of Jeff hitting the streets of Tokyo HARD intercut with Ryan at his computer, laconically trawling ebay SMASH CUT back to Jeff sprinting around with fistfuls of cash in hand and a duffle bag full of utter nonsense.
The difference is Jeff can finance the Raid with that 5000+ dollar game. I financed it with basically an entire paycheque. And I don't think I have anything worth more than a hundred bucks. I think my (open) boxed copy of Chrono Trigger might be the best I got. Or maybe some sealed SMT games.@Brodehouse: Watching Jeff's raid will also make you feel better and faster too.

A video on this Raid would validate my premium membership for sure.
This Tokyo raid will make this quirky site with interesting personalities into the best site of all time with the most insanely awesome crew ever. They will have secured all our premium memberships till the end of times. Dare I say it, it will go down as the dumbest (in a good way) thing game journalists have ever done on video.

I'm trying real hard to keep my expectations in check for this whole thing.
It's going poorly.
Really? I have no trouble with that at all.
But yeah, for now I'll settle for a rating on that Magic Chase game. The perceived value of that blew my mind.

Yeah I was the penultimate caller that Happy Hour, and called in claiming to be Jeff's parole officer.
I really want to see this come to fruition. It is happens and ends up being sub only content I will buy a sub so I can watch it. It is just such a crazy idea it would be potentially fantastically entertaining to watch.

Will be interesting to see, would have been better to think up all this space madness earlier in the year to try to tie it to a GB/Gamespot trip to Japan for TGS coverage this year then Jeff & the crew could have stayed a day or two more for whatever hijinks they want.
The fact that this is being talked about AFTER TGS makes it even more perfect and desperate..like a man with nothing left to lose.
That dude is a man on a mission now, there's nothing stopping him....besides the first step to overcoming addiction is to admit you have the problem and succumbing to it...wait whatYou guys really shouldn't be encouraging Jeff's addictions like this.
Needs to happen.
When he mentioned it on the podcast I imagined the 8-4 folks walking into their office in the morning to find a passed out Jeff sleeping amidst piles of TG-16 games.
I really want to see this happen, and not just because the resulting live stream where they play a bunch of bad Turbografix games will be stupidly entertaining.
I would really like to see Jeff and the rest of the GB crew go to Tokyo and get some games as well as the other stuff they could get up to over there (maybe make some more videos with 8-4).
Going to Tokyo and buying up a bunch of crazy games is actually something I've wanted to do myself for a while but right now I don't have the funds to do it (flight, hotel and spending money on games all builds up to what would be a very expensive trip) and even if I did I wouldn't know where to start or what places to go in Tokyo to get some cool retro games.
If they do go through with it I hope they record it and share tips on what to do and where to go.
