Yeah I was the penultimate caller that Happy Hour, and called in claiming to be Jeff's parole officer.

I accidentally woke up my family laughing in the middle of the night at this part of the podcast whilst listening on my iPod! Love the idea of a video documentary of the whole trip, flights, meals, shopping sprees and the lack of accommodation/no hotels rule. As they say: "Travel broadens the mind" (and your out of control retro games collections!)

@gas24: Did you watch the TNT where Jeff first announced his intention to do the raid? I think it's even funnier, because he is just so enthusiastic about the raid idea, and he is still in the process of pitching the idea to everyone, so he's really selling it.

I missed that TNT, which episode is it please?

The Hawken quicklook got me thinking.. What if Drew/Vinny went to Akihabara to shop for a IRL DUB Soundboard?

Get some electronic dub horns, wire them up to a control board with arcade buttons or a arduino with a PC-control interface!

You ever find yourself with an extra five grand lying around, half a bottle of good vodka and an inability to map out the long term implications of your actions?

Well, I did, and I halfway convinced a friend of mine who has a similar disregard for his finances to go into this with me. We came to the conclusion that we just don't love crappy TurboGrafx games enough to justify it. And that none of us speak Japanese. And that the flight back after 48 hours of nonstop drinking (no open contain laws!) and bad purchases would probably either kill us or get us detained at the airport for trying to smuggle in a bunch of airsoft rifles and a duffel bag full of unused yet crumpled yen.

...Shit, I've got to try to pitch this thing again.

i wish i had an extra five bucks lying around right now...
