Jeffery L. Briggs
Founder and former President and CEO of Firaxis Games, Briggs is a designer and composer best known for Sid Meier's Civilization (I-IV), Alpha Centauri and Pirates! He is a licensed Doctor of Musical Composition.
Jeffery L. Briggs began his career at <ins>West End Games</ins> as a game designer before moving on to Microprose. There he helped design Colonization and Civilization II while providing music for many other releases. He later co-founded Firaxis Games (Company) and was instrumental in the design of Civilization III; he also wrote most of the original score for Civilization IV. Shortly after negotiating the acquisition of Firaxis Games by Take Two Interactive in 2005, Briggs left the company.
