I bought Journey when it first came out for the PS3 but for some reason never got around to playing.

So tonight I'm going to try it again, are there any tips for getting the best out of it?

I know I need to be online for something and its best to do the whole game in one sitting. Is there anything else?

Or is it a case of the less you know the better?

Thanks, maybe see some duders along the way!

No need to have Journey playing on the background.

I'd say you're set otherwise. I played the game through twice on PS3 and while the online aspect of it was different both times around, it was just as a great experience in the end.

Going to play through it (again) tonight as well.

Online and in one sitting. That's it, really. I guess put yourself in a theater setting like the least about of disturbances possibly too

I plan on playing through it again. It's definitely a game you need to play in one sitting. Hopefully you can stick to only having one partner throughout your playthrough, as you can get separated and then another random guy might join your game. It just feels better having gone through the Journey with one single partner.

Yeah, as long as you can give it your full attention and you have an internet connection, you're all set.

You need sound, as well. Make sure you've got some decent speakers and/or headphones.

I just finished it, this is one of the most amazing games ever made, period. Love it so much. I think I kept the same partner through the whole thing. A masterpiece!

Yup. This still hit me as hard as it did back on PS3, maybe even more with my current state of life.

I hope Abzu will be as good.

Once you start, finish it. Focus on it. Otherwise, that's it. Enjoy the ride. Also, don't give into the hype. Just enjoy the game for what it is.

No, it sounds like you got the two most important points with playing online and finishing in one sitting. Just explore and have fun.

@burt: Awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. It really is an amazing experience. I played through it for the fourth time yesterday (first time since probably 2013) and it was still a fantastic game the fourth time round. I'm just sad I lost my buddy about halfway through and got two more companions but they just weren't the same as the first.

@redbullet685: Same, lost my first buddy early on, he or she never got up from the circle of light, their clothes fell off their back revealing nothing underneath. Although I bonded with the dude at the end, trudging through the snow, hiding from the beasts.

I can't believe I never bothered to play it before. I feel it needs more than the recognition it has but oh well.

I tried playing in one sitting last night, and I had a power surge and my ps4 shut off. Wonder what my partner saw...

Having a really bad fever helps. That's how I played it at least.

Finished straight through last night, going to try to platinum this weekend. Just want to be in that world for longer.

I'm surprised there is a platinum, what's it involve? scarf length?

EDIT: I've just had a look at the trophy guide and there's a decent amount. The multi player ones seem like they'll be tricky though

Play it in one sitting. Wear headphones. Don't do anything else during (listening to music, etc.).

I just finished this for my first time about an hour ago. The only recommendation I have is everyone else's: finish it in one sitting. It's only about two hours. Don't worry about anything else. Just let the game come.

I'm really surprised this game hasn't been copied six ways from Sunday. It's such a simple, effective concept. Would play again. In the right mood.

One sitting, a good sound system or head phones and follow the first person you encounter.

At the end of it, I just felt like laying down and sobbing silently.
