Juan Jose Ruiz is a character in Police Quest 3. Ruiz, a proud Chicano, is stopped by Officer Sonny Bonds for driving too slow in the fast lane, and takes him to court a few days later in the case of the People vs. Ruiz.
Ruiz drives a black 1959 Ford Fairlane (VIN #88996, License Plate 22776) with hydraulics and a hot flame paint job. All scenes in which Mr. Ruiz appears are accompanied by his latin theme music. He is morbidly obese, and lives at 1115 Lilly Street in Lytton. According to the Lytton city map, that is not a valid address, as it would be found in the Aspen Falls Recreation Area.
The digitized character model for Juan Jose Ruiz was played by George Esparza, who would go on to play Yo Money’s massive bodyguard in Police Quest: Open Season.
