Originally based on a book by novelist Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park tells the story of one man's attempt to build a theme park to exhibit living dinosaurs cloned from a DNA sample to the world. Unfortunately, the exhibits go awry and the dinosaurs soon escape from their enclosures, leaving the park's guests and staff to flee for their lives. Crichton then sold the movie rights to Universal Studios to produce a movie adaptation directed by Steven Spielberg.
A sequel series titled Jurassic World began releasing in 2013 to expand the movie's storylines and breathe new life into the dormant franchise for a new generation.
