Just cause 2 one of the best games of teh decade
" wow, mispelled to thhings and didn't even knowtice, on f it should bee EVEN, not EVEB "EVEB, teh, knowtic, thhings. Four actually ;)
But as for Just Cause 2, I do not think it is a contender for game of the decade. Odds are such an award will go to Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, or one of the other massively hyped games. To be honest, from what I saw in a demo, I wouldn't even class it as game of the day.
Teh snizz yo!
Decade is too young but.... this is the game i wanted GTA IV to be.... just less polished.
No. It is one hell of a cool game but in terms of having that real open world that is "alive" which GTA4 showed, and having a story as deep as Assassin's Creed, it's far from it. But in terms of all the destruction, action, badass-ness, hilarious voice-acting, and just pure mindless violent fun, Just Cause 2 is a real winner and a must-play for open-world gamers. :)
Yo diz gaem iz gun bore teh shit out of you once you´ve finished unlocking all the stuff. It certainly is a huge improvement over Just Cause 1 and a way better game than Mercs 2, but still there are a lot of things wrong with it.
As long as you´re just in for causing chaos and don´t care about most of the mission-stuff its fun, but quite repetitve. Once you get going on the faction´s missions.... DUDE! There are a few great ones (japanese secret weapon) in between a LOT of extremely boring and short "kill this guy" Missions.
They should have cut out most of this faction-crap completely, especially the "cut scenes" involving Bolo Santosi and her counterparts.
not the decade, it's good and a total time-sink, but i dont think any game can be game of the decade unless its a total game-changer
" not the decade, it's good and a total time-sink, but i dont think any game can be game of the decade unless its a total game-changer "This. Usually the game of the decade contenders are games that brought something unique in experience to gamers. Like GTA4, it showed a very lively open virtual world. In MGS4, it gave a different sense to story-telling. In Uncharted, it showed gamers how a game can be like a movie successfully. But for Just Cause 2, it used a lot of concepts from other games and just made it "cooler" but not a unique revelation. ;)
No way. I havent completed it yet, and I actually got it the first day. Planing on going back to it today, but don't know if that will happen thou. JC2's problem is that it get so damn repetitive.
I am just amazed at the sheer amount of collectables. Do you realize that there are 2700 resource items to find? 2700!
I actually don't find the game repetitive at all, i'm having a blast with the game and at only 40 bucks brand new from Walmart (CDN too so it would be like 30 something american) it was a great deal.

"Me too, even if the stuff you do gets repetitive, the intense action can never get tiring. :)
And IMHO, what this game has actually done very successfully is to efficiently encourage players to REALLY explore not just see the landscape and the towns, but to look at every corner to look for items, destroy stuff and search for easter eggs hehe! And it's not really a pain to explore since you have that blinking thing to show you that an item is nearby, unlike finding the feathers in Assassin's Creed 2 which you have to either listen to the fancy sound nearby or use the eagle vision to see something so small that kind of frustrated me at some point hehe!

" Its awesome but i still enjoyed Fallout 3's open world more."lol just because they're both Open World games doesnt mean u can compare em :P
" AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED !!Dude, when we are looking at every single game that has come out in this decade, i can totally compare the two. This crosses genre boundaries. Fallout 3 was an open world with just as many unique locales (JC 2 has more locales but I would hardly call them all unique.), and a better story as well as deeper gameplay, that said, KOTOR is the best game of the decade with JC2 being no slouch, but in a battle of 10 years worth of badass games, it will lose every time.

Dude the decade just started. 2000-2009 is ten years and 2010-2019 is the next decade so i doubt very much that a game that comes out in the first 4 or 5 months of the first year in a decade will achieve that honor.
it's a fun stupid game and i would say it's one of the better games this year but it's no game of the decade.
