    Keiji hates his job?
    Keiji hates his job?

Believe it or not, that's what the Mega Man creator said during a recent interview with Kotaku.

"I hate it! I want to retire early and take it easy."

Shocking, isn't it? I guess being a game producer is not as fun as you'd hope it to be. Heck, I would gladly be his replacement.

It's probably hell of a lot of more work than most people imagine. And going through let-downs and poor sales etc, can't be easy!

Seems like it would be a pretty tiresome industry to work in these days.

These guys pour their heart and soul into a project for years just to have a bunch of jaded, smarmy "game journalists" spend an afternoon with it and tear it to ribbons for the tiniest of details. Then watch as legions of forum trolls and blog readers assume single file behind their leader of choice to bring down this evil that has been unleashed on the world - I think I'd want to retire too.

Kotaku, huh? The odds of a mistranslation or a purposefully misleading headline to drive up page views just increased 1000%.

So yeah, probably Kotaku again taking shit out of context. If it's Bashcraft, then the stupid Gaijin just made a silly translation error.

@ProfessorEss: You have a point there. The reason behind the frustrations of being a game designer/ producer may be because he is sick and tired of people asking and demanding the same things over and over again for many years. I guess it reaches to the point of saying, "stop asking the same questions, please. Just leave me alone already."

As far as I'm concerned, this is great news.

From the moment people step into the industry they have to work their assess off to produce anything even adequate. Assuming this isn't a mistranslation or taken out of context then it's not surprising Inafune is tired of the industry after all the time he's been working.

Holding judgement until I have read the interview. Plus Inafune is always saying all kinds of crazy things, I think he will be around for a while yet.

I doubt that's sincere, if that's what he actually said.
