    Kinect Support

    Concept »

Kinect is a camera and depth sensor-based peripheral for the Xbox 360 that allows users to interact with and play games using their whole bodies, rather than using a standard controller.

    Another Kinect Marketing deal...

I just found out that, on top of the massive exposure Kinect got on Oprah, Burger King will use Kinect Animal toys as a toy in kids packs. Microsoft is really going nuts on this. Apparently you can take the toy home, use the Kinect to scan the toy, and that same pet will become available in game. That is a MAJOR draw to kids. Going out for lunch with their parents, or birthday parties, and you get a toy that says "Hey Kids, get your parents to buy you an Xbox 360 and Kinect and I will be your virtual pet with Kinectimals!"

Toys "r Us is also selling lager stuffed Kinectimals which you can scan.

I sense that this will sell pretty good.

Microsoft wants this thing to sell like hotcakes.  A little over one week away till Kinect launches.  Lets see if all this marketing will work.

I'm predicting that Kinect will sell well, but Microsoft will have trouble selling the software. I haven't found any of the software appealing though.

@Apathylad: Personally I think it has a nice mix of casual and hardcore games. Star Wars, Steel Batallion 2, That Dragon-taming and flying one, Uncaged fighters (looks kind of fun), Forza 4, Rise of Nightmares, Child of Eden, Haunt. And these are just the ones that are announced now, hopefully as it sells more, more titles will be released.

THAT is really cool. If I were 10 again I could see myself getting really psyched about it.

That's really cool I could see that doing really well.  I already have Kinectimals  pre-ordered I might just have to go to BK and buy some kids meals depending on what cat's they have.

Damn, this could ruin my plan to buy Kinect for $20 in a year because it was such a horrible failure sales wise!

Joking aside, I hope that Kinect does well I just wish that the software was more appealing to me.

i've always been under the impression that this thing will sell big. The gimmick is just too good for casual gamers. This will probably outsell Move and will "Move" a lot of 360 consoles. But, im also under the impression that it will be another closet peripheral and end up collecting dust.
