Kinect Support
Concept »
Kinect is a camera and depth sensor-based peripheral for the Xbox 360 that allows users to interact with and play games using their whole bodies, rather than using a standard controller.
Guy playing kinect without moving. It IS the future
So it's like playing a game of Forza with all the assists turned on and then just taping the "win" button down with some tape and just leaving the game on for hours?
Amazing, this is indeed the future of stuff we have seen before..
" It's still not as bad as Call of Duty: Black Ops
Are you trying to say that the Blops video, one stage that required the player to move and interact a few times while playing, is a worse example of automated hand-holding gameplay than this, which is played perfectly still and automated to a fully self-playing degree?
English is my third language, either I misunderstood or you've got regrets purchasing the Kinect.
" It's a launch Kinect game, and Kinect sold 1 million units it's opening week. Clearly people got faith in what it can do. Give it time. "Dear god...
I had a somewhat similar experience the first time I played ExciteTruck.
I beat the guy I was playing against by about 45 seconds, but he drove so poorly and hit soo many trees that his "HIT TREE" bonuses awarded him first place despite me nearly lapping him.
@dudeglove:
Not really, it still takes some semblance of skill to make it through a level without firing your gun whereas in the Kinect game all the guy had to do was sit there and do absolutely nothing. Still, its annoying how games can be scripted so much it doesn't really matter what you do in it. The guy in the Blops video is a complete dick btw.
Well, now, isn't that interesting. We all sit here with our hardcore gamer sense of superiority, but the truth is, the hardcore house hasn't been in order for years, has it. This lack of challenge trend and the sense of entitlement that says you should be able to beat a game by virtue of putting it in and yet still feel like a bad ass is really unique to this generation. Yeah, what right to we have to attack Kinect when we've been doing this exact same kind of thing for years. Kinect really is the future, and, yes, it does look boring, and, yes, it is our fault." It's still not as bad as Call of Duty: Black Ops
"
You add to that the fact that this game was a huge commercial success in spite of being from Activision, you add to that how terribly Infinity Ward was treated, and there are a lot of people here who really should feel ashamed of themselves.
I was watching this in a tiny window in the background at work, but I don't remember the guy in the video even blinking during the entire race. I don't want to scream "fake!" about a video that isn't, but was that an actual video in the upper-left or just a freeze-frame?
EDIT: Watched it again. Definitely not a still picture. His ability to sit completely still like that for the entire race is a little creepy.
" @somejerk said:Eff. Where's that "u mad" meme when it's most relevant? :(Yes, because one of them is (meant to be) a AAA game, while the other is a shitty launch title. It's like the horrendous FMV games of years gone by, except instead of horrible actors there are just horrible voice actors. "
