    @christ0phe: ...just play Versus XIII and let it go.  KH3 won't touch a current-gen console.

    @RE_Player92: You have to wonder if this was one of the deals for Nomura making Versus.  I can't see Nomura honestly signing away the KH series to be launched like this.  Not even 10 years since the series has started, and there's already 9 games in the series.

    The series(for me anyway) lost it's appeal after Kingdom Hearts 2. Too many side games/storylines.

    I don't see why people think that KH is being run into the ground or something. The latest game, Birth by Sleep(I don't count coded since that was released over several months on cell phones), was one of the best KH games I've played. This game is to set up the story for KH III and frankly it seems interesting to me due to reason why Sora and Riku are visiting Yen Sid in the first place.

    I would love to know the behind the scenes at Square Enix and what Nomura thinks but unfortunately we will never know. And you just opened my eyes, 9 games in 10 years... and people complain about a Call of Duty every year. Personally I loved the first one, very simple story and seeing disney characters interact with final fantasy characters was mind blowing in 2002. Now that appeal is gone and Kingdom Hearts 3 will be in the same boat as Final Fantasy 13, hyped up and in development for years but is ultimately a letdown.

    I guess it's closer to what I liked about Kingdom Hearts 1... but I still think this series would be much better off as a one-time thing.

    To be fair they have said it will have a story & gameplay equivalent to the numbered titles. Birth by Sleep was the same way, but the rest you could give or take.
     
     @OmegaChosen: Because I believe people posting that didn't actually play Birth by Sleep I don't think.

    This isn't a spin-off. It's basically what you would expect Kingdom Hearts 3 to be. A sequel to 2 featuring brand new worlds which advances the plot.

    I like the idea that an IP spawned from massive corporate synergy lost its integrity when the guy who unironically wears elf boots left to do something else.

    Man, all you guys are so cynical. Can't you just sit back and enjoy the magic? Can you really fault it for not being on your system of choice? What's the big deal if they switch up the gameplay systems from time to time?  
    What's important is that it's still Kingdom Hearts, you're still traveling to wonderful lands and meeting magical characters like you all dreamed you could do when you were young. And even if the story isn't exactly moving forward (which it really is), all the enrichment these "side-games" are giving to the Kingdom Hearts mythos is just going to make the final payoff all the more amazing. Just like World of Color is dazzling guests almost every night at California Adventure, Kingdom Hearts can be so beautiful if you just open yourself up to it and it's trying to say. 
     
    Now to fanboy out for a second.  When I heard Yen-Sid talking about the mark of mastery I was all like ZOMG, and did you see that gameplay at the end I just about shed some tears cause that shit look SO DOPE.

    Did anybody else thought that this is what happened? It seems like Sora sees Xemnas, but itn reality he's fighting Riku and vise versa...
