I was thinking about putting some points into using the summon spell, especially for the fact that it can siphon off health. Does the faer gorta do a good amount of work while it's active?

It makes for good distraction, but that is really it.

It does distract lots of enemies making big encounters easier but that's not all.

Fully upgraded it attacks 7 times in its combo-chain, its lunge attack knocks enemies down.

Every hit it deals has a 70% chance to heal you for roughly 1/4th your health.

Playing on Hard with this and I've not needed a health potion for so long I've forgotten the last time I used one.
