    Paul Preece and David Scott founded The Casual Collective in 2007, and began developing and hosting Flash-based browser games on their website (which is still active, if depreciated). Since rebranding as KIXEYE in 2011, the company has focused on developing its games for Facebook. Games the company has developed under the KIXEYE aegis include Backyard Monsters, Battle Pirates and War Commander.

    In late 2012 the company opened a new development studio in Victoria, BC, Canada, helmed by Clayton Stark, former Zynga Director of Development.
